Milton Keynes Mum Launches Free SEND Support Website to Help Families Feel Less Alone
A Milton Keynes mum and carer has launched SENDBridge, a free online platform designed to help families of children with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND) find support, useful resources and a welcoming community.
Tina Howard created SENDBridge after experiencing firsthand how difficult and overwhelming it can be to navigate SEND services and find the right support for her own children.
As an autistic mum and carer with ADHD, Tina understands the challenges families can face, from navigating education and referrals to finding organisations that can offer practical help.
Turning personal experience into support for others
SENDBridge was created with one simple aim: to make finding help easier and ensure that families don’t feel alone.
The website brings together useful information, SEND resources, support organisations and opportunities for parents and carers to connect with others who understand their experiences.
It also includes helpful organisational tools, with further features and resources continuing to be developed.
Tina said:
“I know how overwhelming it can be when you’re trying to find the right support for your children. Sometimes you don’t even know where to start or who to ask.
“I wanted to create somewhere families could find useful information, connect with others and feel supported without having to search through lots of different websites.
“SENDBridge is still growing, but if it helps even a few families feel less alone, that means so much to me.”
SENDBridge featured in MKFM
The launch has already attracted local attention, with MKFM publishing an article introducing SENDBridge to the Milton Keynes community.
Tina hopes the publicity will help more parents, carers and families discover the free platform.
Free for families to use
SENDBridge is free to access and welcomes parents, carers and people looking for SEND information and support.
The website will continue to grow, with new resources, community information and helpful features being added.
